Wearing Thorogood wedge sole moc toe (steel toe) right now. They've done great by me. Much more comfortable than any pair of redwings I've bought. I recently got their Shock Zone insoles and it was HUGE improvement over the factory one.

I'd like to get a pair of the slip-on ones in the future

Just be careful not all thorogood boots are made in the USA, same with Danner.
This is true, although the non made In USA ones aren’t made in the less desirable Asian countries. I have a pair of their military type boots and they’re made in Brazil.

I wear the 804-4378 for work. 8” moccasin with heel and steel toe. Been on them doing industrial maintenance for right at 2 and a half years. The soles are About slick. trying to decide if I want to buy another pair then send these out to get re-soled, then rotate or buy a cheap pair for the wait.

my only complaint with both my work boots and non made In USA military style boot is the laces. The ones that come in them kept coming untied. It’s like the material doesnt grip down in its self. But buying different laces wasnt a huge deal. Just found it odd that they made such a good boot and then put the shittiest laces they could find on them.

i Use the dr scholes massaging inserts in all my boots and shoes. The ones with the little round bumps on them
