Friend of mine is looking to unload his CT761 for 150 bucks...includes gun, two batts, charger and case. He got it in October, it's used but not beaten by any means. I am an air tool guy but when we used it this weekend it was nice to not have a hose following me around, and it did have some guts to it.

Any insight on longevity, use, experience, etc. is appreicated.

It's this kit...

I've got one, it's been great. It's more powerful than i expect it too be and is a massive time saver for lots of engine bay stuff and some underside stuff like metal under trays etc

I did try and use mine on wheel nuts - which it will do if not any tighter than 120nm but the bearing at the anvil failed and whilst it was replaced for free i put it down to trying to use it on stuff it's not designed for.

I've not had any other problems with it.

Battery last for a good time, charge quickly. Trigger is great.

I'm a Milwaukee fan, but I say jump on it for that money. They have an excellent reputation. I have the Milwaukee version (M12) and I use the heck out of it, it's very handy.

I use mine a lot as well. Blew it up in the first 6 months tightening down a puller but its been okay since then which is about a year now. Just don't hammer on something a lot. Truthfully I actually think its overpowered for its build quality/size and I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks again. I ended up buying a MAC as a back-up. Not quite the same power but I trust DeWalt more on the longevity side.

I have 2 of the same basic tools /motors, but mine are one 1/4 hex type drill/driver and one in 1/4 square drive impact......I use the heck outta outta mine and think they are much better than than the older / heavier cordless tools of the past while being much better than the previous 7 volt tools....I'd buy it!!

My anvil failed after one tire season (and a few drop from the lift). Rebuilt took two months because apparently everyone else was breaking them too and they had to redesign a hammer case that is beefier. :dunno:

It's powerful enough to knock lugs off but realistically it shouldn't be used on anything bigger than M10, or let it rattle on something tight for more than 5 seconds.

Getting it tomorrow for 100 bucks plus a set of Northern Tools 3/8-3/4 stubby combos.
Anyone know if they offer a boot for it?

I like mine. The anvil bushing came out early on so I got a new unit. Great for whipping off 8-12mm bolts
