Over the years I've spent a lot of money at Summit ordering parts online and they usually throw stickers in the box. I've got a fair more number of those than I need... One time a buddy asked me to take him to Reno w/my truck to pick up a motorcycle he bought (if you have a truck you know what it's like having friends who don't). I took advantage and went by the Summit store while there. Talked to one of the guys for awhile, mentioned how many parts I bought from them for my car and that I was thinking of buying Headers, mufflers and pipes for my Camaro. He talked to his manager and worked out a deal that was below their published price, so I bought it. I thought it would be a good time to ask for some swag so I asked if they had a Summit banner laying around. No dice, but he did get me a Summit ball cap, which I wear all the time. Not as cheap as stickers but still a wise investment on their part as they get a lot of moving advertisement.

I've been trying to tell my friends how good SK is and their Customer Service is over the top...I had ordered 3 big socket sets from them and a couple sockets were off on the QC aspect, after a call to Customer Service, an email with my info I received within 3 days the replacement sockets and an SK Hat! I had to purchase my Snap on cap for like $25 while SK is giving me one for free, WTH! SK all the way

Very cool experiment. I expect at least 100 emails to S-K in the next 24 hours, LOL.

I think we crashed their server with all our requests!

Milwaukee, no go:

"Tim, Thank you for your email to Milwaukee Electric Tool.
We at Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation value our customers' feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us regarding your desire to promote our Milwaukee products.
Unfortunately, we do not have any stickers or logo’s to send out from customer service at this time.
We do however, offer branded products for a great price at www.milwaukeetool.com under Milwaukee Gear.
"

Channel Lock, Good to go!

"Hi Tim -
Thanks for contacting us.
We will be glad to send stickers for your tool boxes. We will send them to the address below.
Have a nice day.
Channellock, Inc.
"

Milwaukee sent me an envelope full of stickers when I asked last month:

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/contact

I've sent out a whack of requests in the past year and have COVERED my toolchest with them... Only tools and products I use. I've got them all on magnets.

It probably doesn't hurt that I point out I have regular wrench sessions with other bikers.

Here is my twist: I work for a global IT company on site at an aerospace client. Part of my job is to bring the full capabilities of our company to our client. When I engage someone 'new' to the account (usually a senior leadership level) I buy them a trinket from the client's store - a pen, a coffee mug or something. I like to send them off with a token of appreciation. Even executives like swag :)

Now, got to find out why Starrett ignored my chart request, and go after a Channellock goodie bag!

It makes you wonder if any of the big names are studying or keeping an eye out on a forum like this? They might be slapping themselves at this moment thinking how much more business or loyalty can be gained by small tokens of appreciation like a sticker could make  I'm a grown *** man, but I have to admit... I turn into a little kid when I get a sticker with a tool or car performance part purchase

Sears... I have a lot of craftsman, and cannot get a craftsman sticker to save my life. Tried buying one and dealt with three people who could not get it through their heads what I was after.

I asked Canadian Tire for a mastercraft sticker and eventually got a few.. Bigger that my tool chest unfortunately.

I remember a few years ago, Yella Terra had a link on the home page of their website saying something along the lines of "get your free sticker". It took you to an auto fill page and magically a few days later, a bunch of stickers turned up in the mail! Good marketing.

slightly off the tool topic, but if you ever buy anything from LaRue Tactical,
you will understand the true power of swag.....

they hook you up with every order.

LOL. I remember once upon a time I ordered something small from them because I heard they'd give me a free hat. Several thousand dollars later I've got about 20 dillos. Certainly paid off for mark.

Not quite the same but one company in the mazda world is Corksport. They're known for doing hand drawn special request images or personal notes with their orders. It's quite impressive some of the work they've done (see below).

They send stickers with every order and when I did one particularly big order with them, they also sent a free license plate frame. Something they actually sell usually for $15.

I emailed a nice letter to Simple Green telling them how much I love their stuff. Yesterday got a nice New Era fitted hat and a coupon for any Simple Green product up to $9.50. Hat is XL though so won't fit my normal sized head but my brother in law will love it.
