Needed to run my brad nailer today so I fired up my Devilbis 4HP twin tank compressor in my workshop, ran fine for about 2 minutes then sounded like it was dyeing and the motor was struggling. Shut it off and screwed the box I was making together. Later on I decided to troubleshoot the comp. striped the shrouds off and looked it over ,tried to start it and it vibrated and shook after it built up 50 lbs. took the head off the comp end, (it's an oiless model) O ring was ok and nothing scored in the bore little more investigation finds the set screw holding the connecting rod onto the bearing had backed out and the connecting rod was out of alignment. Little bit of tear down and re-assembly and the old girl is running as good as ever. .... Thought I was really going to have to buy a new compressor for the basement workshop I use the hell out of this one and never would not want to have one down there.

Good deal, though I bet you could have upgraded to a quieter model....
