Thoughts on 3M 6000 series full face respirator?

I've seen the Uvex/Sperian Bionic Shield recommended quite a bit, but am deciding to get a full face respirator instead for more lung protection. I've come across the 3m 6000 series and it seems to fit the bill. I would be using it for painting, sanding, and some metalwork/woodwork. The face plate is said to be ballistic rated, but is it sufficient against grinding sparks? I am a little wary, since I wouldn't be able to fit safety goggles underneath and will hope that the face plate will hold.

Better alternatives?

Same uvex turbo shield and 3m std pink dust mask p100? Then 3m orange ear plugs which I tie to my Shield and hat. Glasses are what ever you like

The uvex stuff is super nice and 3m makes great stuff

I have both. Use them at different times. The bionic shield is so cheap, might as well get both.

But more often I just use my 3m respirator (not the full face) and a pair of safety glasses. Just easier....

Full-face is great, but will not be appropriate for paints with isocyanate hardeners. Also, lenses are shatterproof (within reason) but SCRATCH easily and get expensive to replace. Grinder sparks will scratch and pit it quickly. They DO sell lens protectors.
If you haven't used full-face respirators before, be aware that they can be claustrophobic, and as soon as you have it on, you will probably sneeze snot all over the lens (not kidding, I do it frequently)

My work issues us all the 3m 6000 series full face. They seem to be made well and are fairly comfortable. They also have lens protectors for them that are a lot like a cell phone screen protector. I have never had an issue with feeling claustrophobic while wearing it. It does make breathing a little harder but no big deal unless you are doing something very physical.

The 3M 7800S is what I've been using. Extremely comfortable (silicone) and easy breathing.
