Guys,
Do any of you have a Capri 1/4” drive flex head ratchet? If so, please reply with your review. Thanks!

For these type of common ratchets, husky made by gearwrench is very hard to beat. You need a very good reason to go out of your way to get a Capri. Do you like the logo better? Or just Want to try something new?

I want damned near every ratchet I see or read about. I haven't tried the Capri, although a couple other forum users have reported favorably on them.

Still pondering the one that a considerate member told me about. If I wasn't up to my ears already in ratchets I would be buying it.

Just went this route instead of Capri due to lack of feedback on it. I have the Tekton 90 tooth 1/4” drive. Like if a lot. Wanted a little longer handle. Have the Carlyle 3/8” drive locking flex head. Will try the non locking 1/4” drive flex head now.

The Capri flex head is a great ratchet. Internally, it's kind of an old school design. Instead of using the floating pawl gear that you see in Gearwrench/Matco/SATA made ratchets, and many others, Capri uses the one piece batwing design pawl gear. with this design you may have fewer teeth engaging the drive gear but, the teeth are slightly larger and the ratchet won't auto reverse like Gearwrench does. The ratchet has a crisp action and excellent chrome. Capri also has a very easy to use photo warranty program should you have a problem. I believe they offer free conus shipping and rewards points if you order from their site. They usually have monthly specials. Not to hijack the thread but, Capri has some really nice bit socket sets. I like everything I have from Capri so far.
The Carlyle 72 tooth quick release flex head ratchet you went with is also a nice ratchet. It's a little longer than the Capri I think. I don't think it's as good as the Carlyle 90 tooth flex head comfort grip ratchet that's no longer offered but, it will serve you well.

The capri ratchets are nice, at these sale prices they're a no brainier. The 3/8" low profile is cheaper than the Husky ratchets someone else recommended above, so I'm not sure why you'd go that route. Last i looked every Husky ratchet was still made in China, but I haven't been to Home Depot in probably 6 months. I've owned the 1/4" standard ratchet Capri offers for years now and have used it a fair bit. Never made it to work and sits in my home box so its not exactly seen any regular use, but the occasional use it has seen its served its purpose.

I just bought the 3/8" low profile one, haven't bought any tools in awhile and the prices are cheap. As fed pointed out they "make" excellent tools overall, I've been using their bit sockets professionally for two or three years now. Not broken a single one, no complaints. I'll update when it gets here tomorrow. Its nice out and I've got to change oil so I guess I'll give it the rigorous test of pulling my drain plug lol.

Not a pro but I am a hoarder and have literally a hundred ratchets almost of every make collected over the years. I use them for motorcycle and general auto work mostly. The 3/8 Capri flex is very nice, I like it. Very smooth with positive engagement and no slippage that I've encountered so far. Nice fit and no slop in the head-to-handle interface or ratchet mechanizm. Would be nice with a locking flex joint but you can adjust/tighten the tension with the pivot screw. Nicely built and finished. I assume the 1/4 drive is just as good so even though I don't need it I'm going for that one too!

Mine showed up on 3/7. No complaints, but who the **** decided this was low profile? This thing is like 30% thicker than my Gearwrench ratchets and almost the same size as an old 36T snap on ratchets. That said its really nice. Action feels great, flex head was actually properly set form the factory. Not wobbly garbage and on the firm/tight side. Chromes good, and it was 20 dollars. Threw it in my box, I've gotta stop buying tools one of these days.

Just bought one and it arrived yesterday. Chrome is good and the flex is about the same as my SK ratchet. Backdrag is pretty high though. It might go away after some use.

Overall, not bad for $20.

I recently bought the 1/4 flex-head, and like everything about it, except the high backdrag.
