I actually have quite a few gearwrench sockets and the quality is pretty darn good. The only gearwrench tool I have had to warranty was a 16mm non reversible gearwrench and I did it at advance auto no problem. Sears will also warranty gearwrench but they don't carry sockets in store so they would have to order them. I believe that fastenal also sells them but how many 1/4 sockets have you really broken? not too much of an issue really.

I have gearwrenches full chrome socket line. They are alright. I have broken a few. My local parts stores warranty them. I do hate the 1/2 set......the deep wells only go to 19mm! The frickin 3/8 set goes just as big in metric!

I found the 1/4 drive shallow metric set for 10 bucks at the local flea market, so thought I'd take a chance. They get used quite a bit and I don't baby them. I'm impressed with the quality. They're nicely made, have flank drive, and they hold up well.

Most people aren't aware that they have a lifetime warranty, so I've been able to pick up quite a few broken Gear Wrenches for 50 cents, or so, and then exchange them at Advance auto parts, no questions asked.

I have the 1/4" impact set, + wobble sockets, they have held up great so far (year and a half) and I use them daily with my 12V impact driver. They are great for tight spots.

Haven't had to warranty any yet, don't know how that will go.

Hey thats cool! I never looked online, I have their " full " catalog and they dont list any. I will look now, only thing is mine are all six points. I have never needed 12 point that big. I am an **** set matcher so I think I would go without rather than go 12 point. My impact sockets are all I really use anyway, but if they come in six point I will buy them!

That's actually from their catalog:

Just curious, do many manufacturer's 6pt deep sets run much larger?

Craftsman does run 12mm-21mm in deep 6pt, instead of 10mm-19mm like GearWrench, but it seems, past that point, most everyone goes 12pt only for the deeps.

I picked up a set of 1/2 drive deep metric sockets at a pawn shop for $10. They seem pretty nice. The ratchets are nice too, although not the first ones I reach for.

I got the same sets but in 12pt since Craftsman does not make 12pt metric 1/4 drive. So far, I have had no issue and they seem well made.
