Thoughts on Insulating a New Building

I built a 24x32x14 building at the lake to store my toys. The building is stick built but a has metal siding and a metal roof. Studs are on 16" center. I was planning on just rolling out bats of insulation but have heard different thoughts on this do to mold? I did not put a vapor barrier because my intention was to do the bats. Keep in mind there is a horizontal 2x4's keeping a gap from the siding.

Would I be ok to just use bats? Also what is the best way to insulate the roof? Was looking at doing spray foam but it is quite pricey.

My goal is not to heat and cool it but just to insulate the sound and kind of regulate the temp.

Thanks

Professionally apply 1-2" of spray foam directly to the inside if the metal siding and along the edges of all 2x4s where they contact the metal. This is your vapor barrier so getting all of the cracks and crevices IS important !

After that take you choice, rolled or batt fiberglass. You ca even do "wet" cellulose if you are planning on putting up some kind of of interior wall (sheet rock, OSB, etc) soon after.

Sorry, guess I should restate that I am looking for cost effective. Going off the price I got for spray foaming just the roof I don't think I could afford to do the whole building.

Use insulation with a built in vapor barrier. My metal building was insulated using fiberglass roll insulation with a plastic facing. As long as you overlap/seal the edges you shouldn't have any sweating. The plastic should face the interior of the building, at least in my climate.

Doing only 1-2" of foam SHOULD be not TOO PAIN FULL ! The. good part is, you can hold off on the rest of the job until next year
