this thread needs a bump.

looks like a good gun to me. there are some videos of it on youtube. if you have a northern tool and equip near you, they have it on display with an air hose connected to it so you can try it.

I did some research, tried to find a legitimate thunder gun, but besides some extremely used ones, I couldn't find any. The street legal version is cute and all, but my 2135TiMAX puts out more power than the Street Legal Thunder Gun, so I went with what was really important. The power. If you have money, the MG725 is supposed to be a great gun also, I love my TiMAX, I crank my compressor past the 90PSI it is rated for and it loves it. Have not had an issue yet.

I don't own the thunder gun,but just checking are you sure you can live with all that loud noise all day long? I hear from the GJ members that some of the new 21 century technology air guns are running much quieter like what johnsdeere850j reports about the 2135Qtimax.

Most of my air tools are from CP and they are loud but not like the thunder gun.

Just my two cents...

I use them at work when we take apart large 2 piece wheels and tires. These things have held up great to some serious abuse, and put out plenty of power. The Timax's we had didnt last long at all, we replaced them with the thunders and haven't had any issues. They are loud and I dont prefer the feel of them over the Ti's but for sheer toughness I would choose the thunder any day. We put these guns through some serious ****. This is with an older, large compressor that puts out generally wet and nasty air, and the tools probably receive far less car then they should.

I've got a TGSL I use for the stuff my cordless IR can't handle-stubborn axles and crank nuts. Runs fine with my IR framing compressor hooked to a 20 gallon tank for one nut at a time use but you'd probably need a 220v compressor to use it as your main impact.

The gun has decent power and is very fast. It is also loud which might be annoying if you used the gun regularly.

I have one it is pretty strong, the 2135Qtimax is stronger though, and WAY quieter... Bout the same price too btw...

If you can get the 2135 for similar money I'd go with that instead. I picked up my TGSL new in box with a stuck trigger for $50.
