Thoughts on light shade color

So I picked up two old Benjamin lights today cheap. I'm going to refinish them and make some goose necks but I'm torn on the final shade color. These will be mounted over each roll up door and even though I love the green I don't think it will look good with all the brown on my building. I'm not sure red or white will flow well either... What do you guys think about doing them brown or maybe a galvanized silver? Just brainstorming before I start them.

Don't get me wrong I love the green and being period correct but the house is also gray brick with brown and is a rocks throw from the shop so im afraid staying green will make the lights less appreciated in the since of them being odd in the color scheme. I like the antique white with silver gray goose necks idea, I'm defiantly going to have do some antique white color searches. The brown may be the best color option, but either way i feel its gonna be hard to make them stand out for what they are but look too odd ball.

Thanks for the feedback guys! One of the many reasons this forum is so awesome

I don't think the size is going to proportion well with the transom over the doors or the doors.
One between the doors, and a bit lower, and one next to the mandoor will allow for more correct proportion.

Look up an early sixties chevy color
Euclid green.

My opinion, these lights do not look good with that type of mounting. Originally a light like that would have been mounted high and probably above the doors, just like he is planning. I've seen others mount them low like a more typical sconce or carriage light and it doesn't look right.

As far as paint I would have a hard time removing the original porcelain enamel, regular paint is never going to hold up as well. Sometimes you can find them in white if that's more what you're after.

The transom space issue has crossed my mind too...I may decide on doing a straight arm with a 90* turn down instead of goose neck to help

I would go with fire engine red or a dark red. It would play against the brown. You’ve got a lot of neutral colors. Having something pop would add a lot. I would add a sign with your name or something in the same red so it all ties in.
