Just looking for a little advice on my lighting plan for my garage. The basics:
24x32x12
White metal panel ceiling
Walls will be OSB painted gloss white
Floor will be coated with Rust Bullet or similar grey semi gloss coating
Front 12’ of building will have flat bottom trusses. Rear 24’ of building has scissor trusses. 14” center height.
Rather than putting in the extra wiring for dimmers, I plan to just have 2 switched circuits. The blue bars will be on one switch, and the red bars will be on a separate switch for when I want it really bright like when I’m detailing a car or bike.
The skinny bars I plan to use Maxlite LSSXT8USE4803 4' 2-Lamp LED Ready. https://www.prolighting.com/lss2xt8use4803.html
The 2 big rectangles I plan on TechBrite 6 Lamp T8 LED High Bay.

The bulbs will be GLL 48” 18W LEDs. Lumens vary by color, but ~2500.
So the blue circuit will be ~45000 lumens down the middle.
The red circuit will add ~30000 lumens on the perimeter.
Note that a Class C motorhome may be in my future. That’s why the perimeter lights are all the way to the outside. I may even mount them to the walls.
Right now just a hot rod or two and a few bikes. The right rear area will probably get a 2 post lift. So I’m not too sure about the location of the two planned 6 bulb monsters. They may move when the lift goes in. Between the lift and the motorhome possibility, I’m considering moving the two monsters directly to the centerline.
Bulb color has me concerned as well. I’m considering having one circuit (blue) at 4k and the other (red) at 5k. So less harsh for everyday use, and then crank on the bright white if I need it.
Thoughts? Is 75K lumens overkill for the space? And thanks to all that post their stuff up here and to Platonic for his great advice. Yeah the skinny lights are his recommended lights.
