Thoughts on my New Compressor

I searched the forum for any reference to these industrial compressors and found none , so here goes. Like most everyone I find it more and more intolerable to work in my shop when the air compressor is running all the time as I age.I have swapped out all my air tools except for my blasting cabinet for Makita 18v cordless stuff and picked up a couple of these KTC rotary screw compressors. They make around 10 CFM at 145 PSI drawing 14 amps. They claim 65 db but I have not confirmed that yet. They are so much quieter than my old compressor and will take up so much less room when I figure out where they will go.I am thinking about putting a 20 or 30 gallon horizontal tank up on a shelf and building a small closet with adequate ventilation to house them. The 2 that I bought have 1 hour runtime on them and were pulled out of a large industrial facility that switched from 1 ph to 3 ph.I think they were probably used for backup of pneumatic control processes. These are Italian designed compressors but KTC/USA is based in Statesville, N Carolina. Very easy to deal with and all parts and tech help are available direct from them. There is no warrantee, but I think it is worth the chance...time will tell. Please give me your thoughts ( I did not pay full price).

I like it. I put a soft start on my old piston compressor but it is still noisy. Yours at $3800 according to your link, even at half of that is way out of my price range. Continue with real world reporting so others can decide if it’s for them.

If it is strong enough to run your blast cabinet and your air hungry tools (DA sanders, air hammer…), I think that it will be fine.

That will, pretty much, be the test.

No more hungry tools except for the air hammer.I am going to run the cabinet with 1 and if that is adequate then I will sell the other.Including shipping and fees I paid about $700 each

Not enough CFM for big boy spray guns and certainly not enough for a spray cabinet if you're using it for more than a minute at a time. Same is true for air sanders. You need at least 17 SCFM to keep up and 20 SCFM to get ahead and that's with an 80 gallon tank.
