Good read. I will be mostly cutting sheet metal and maybe small wood projects. I don't really have the room for a big model but I am going to look into them. Some small bandsaw thoughts just posted in this thread
Bandsaw...how cheap is too cheap?
So, a few times a year a bandsaw would be nice to have. I do not need a big bandsaw, I am thinking a small 9-10 inch is plenty for my needs. You can find Skil, Wen, Ryobi, etc for under $200 bucks for this size. These would just be a benchtop model that I could put up on my bench and make a few...www.garagejournal.com
Thanks @BillK . I fI can get it for a good price I might pick it up.I have one almost identical at home and it works great for what you are describing.
What do you recommend then? I've never owned a band saw. That saw runs way too fast for metal cutting. You can do it but blades won't last long.
