Bandsaw...how cheap is too cheap?
So, a few times a year a bandsaw would be nice to have. I do not need a big bandsaw, I am thinking a small 9-10 inch is plenty for my needs. You can find Skil, Wen, Ryobi, etc for under $200 bucks for this size. These would just be a benchtop model that I could put up on my bench and make a few...

That saw runs way too fast for metal cutting. You can do it but blades won't last long.
What do you recommend then? I've never owned a band saw.

Pretty hard to recommend anything without knowing just what you are trying to do. How thick sheet are you cutting. Thin? electric shear or tin snips. At some point abrasives like angle grinder get looked at. If you want a band saw, you should be looking at a dedicated metal cutting band saw. I have an abrasive band saw blade but it also goes away very fast in a high speed saw.
