Thoughts on this floor color

This is a stain that was put down for me as a sample. It’s charcoal/black in color and I personally think it’s to dark. I’d like opinions. Idea is to try to hide as much **** as possible and keep my floor as nice as possible from salts, grease, oils tire tracks and so on. NO epoxy isn’t an option, and neither is race deck. My floor is rough from an 80 grit grind and we’re gonna grind it once more to 100 and then stain and seal. It already has a densifier on it so this would be added to it. He has a natural gray and a color in between as well. I like the welsh slate over the concrete gray.

Any and all opinions please.

My .02 I used lighter colors because I didn't want anything I dropped to get lost in the abyss and have to search around for it

The lighter you go (except white :)), the better off you will be if you don't want tire tracks, dusty footprints, dust, and other dirt and debris to stand out. The darker a floor gets, the more those things tend to stand out. That is why floor coatings are mostly lighter grays and tans.

So because this corner is already charcoal I think I may do 2 or 4 corners charcoal and then the rest lighter. I’m thinking that concrete gray like suggested maybe the ticket

It's like painting walls in your house. If you have reservations about something being too dark, take heed and don't do it. If you think it looks dark now, it will be overwhelming on the whole floor. Given the choices you posted, I agree on concrete gray. That welsh slate pulls green and it is likely to 'swear' with a lot of things inside. The concrete gray is neutral.

Look at how dirty it already is.

I'd never do floors that dark. You'll either be cleaning constantly or hate how messy it is.

I wouldnt do any more in that color just because one corner is done. Right now, you only have one corner to redo...if you do more, it will create more work later

I’ll have to post some pics. Floor has been ground twice in the last 2 days, filled in all the saw cuts since the slab is 7-8 months cured. Going to stain and seal tomorrow. Concrete grey!! All the black stain came off as well since I have densifier on the floor it wasn’t able to penetrate very deep.

Since the floor looks decently polished, are you anticipating it will soak up staining fluids?
It has a topcoat sealer on it from Euclid chemical that has great properties to keep it from penetrating. Here are their own test results.
