Same Kastar 40 pc set can be had at Sears for 49.99, less with a sale.

They recently discontinued the 48 pc set, which I'm bummed about. I'd been borrowing out of my buddy's set at work for a while, and only went to get my own after they were no longer available.

That really *****. I've wanted one of the 48 piece sets for a couple years now but it's one of those things that you don't think about until you are in the middle of a repair and need them and then you don't have them. Then you forget all about them until the next time you need them! I know it's not the right thing to do but I usually just use a tap to chase threads since that's what I have when I need it. Not sure what sizes the 48 piece set has that the 40 doesn't.

They did? Thanks for the heads up, I just bought one. This one right? Was wanting one so I don't have to use taps, but hadn't pulled the trigger till now.

I was going to say for the individual prices from them you can get the whole SO kit at truck prices. I'm not sure on the actual policy, but my dealer will warranty them.

Dammit. I'm usually good about researching to get the best deal but that does look like a better value than the way I am doing this. I have $40+ invested in the metric and SAE coarse sets.
