Thread size for metal junction box screws

Weird situation. 1/2" deep junction box mounted on exterior under deck. This is surrounded by stone veneer. Exterior sconce has a weird mounting plate and it just barely slides into the circular hole but the actual light is supposed to grab a flange on the mounting bracket.

I need to rig up a threaded post with a nut and keep the mounting bracket spaced a certain distance away from the front plane of the stone veneer. What thread size are the screws that mount a light mounting plate to a metal box? Does all thread come in this thread size?

Thanks for the help.

You might consider making a spacer with a thickness the distance you need to clear the stone. This will have better support than a few small pieces of threaded rod. Then you could just use 2 long screws through everything into the box.

Found 8-32 at Home Depot as well. I could make a spacer with some tubing. A couple nuts on the all thread would accomplish the same spacer effect.

What a jacked up mounting setup.
