anyone know of a source for such a thing.

some accessories thread onto the end of a portapower. i have an idea for a project and would like to source them for a 4 and or 10 ton. all it would be is a steel sleeve with internal threads that i could weld into place allowing me to thread the cylinder to it.

I use hydraulic Rams daily being in the industrial repair field. I don't know of an off the shelf solution for you on this one. Sounds like something that could be easily made in a lathe though. Elaborate a little bit and I'm sure we can figure something out.

A quick look at porta-powers do not show a threaded end on the cylinder. Can you link to a visual of what you have? Brand name?

i have a no name 4 ton and the 10 i have to go check. the link posted above........there is a black plastic sleeve on the cylinder to protect the threads. the part above it that looks like a large ring. it threads on the cylinder to form a sort of hook or ledge to get a shorter push or spread on things.

i assume there is some sort of industry standard as i believe that most parts interchange. either that or they all copy the "porta-power" specs.

Some of the porta power rams used npt. Enerpac and spx offer threaded plates, but very$$$. Best bet would be to measure and check the thread with a thread pitch gauge. There may be a tap available to do what you need.

I was looking for something similar for my 10T Torin cylinder to use in a Hydraulic press. If it's the same, it's a straight metric thread. I don't remember the details, though. Pretty easy to make with a lathe and metric change gears. Lucky for me I know a guy. I didn't find much on the web that seemed to really fit what I wanted to do unless I spent a lot of money.

The pull back rams have a threaded rod end. The other end is a male thread that goes into the cylinder.

as does the push or lift ram between the the two pull back rams you pointed out and the one directly below them. the black plastic sleeve just threads over them to protect them when not being used.
