Hey all, another thread about my Wayne air compressor, I love making new threads. If you want to read through all the old threads see the links below.

Dealing with wiring

TLDR: Got an old Wayne compressor, had to fight to get pipe plugs off to inspect tank, had to go through wiring, now I am having a leak issue.

So I got the compressor wired up correctly, all the pipe plugs taped and installed, added drain ball valve, fired it up and it worked. Now the issue is a good leak on the top large pipe plug. This is the one that took the most abuse.

I did have issues getting the new plugs in, especially the top plug. I cleaned the threads best I could and then would turn the plug in, and out, trying to get the gunk, etc... out and making sure it wouldn't ruin the threads. I made it tight, not super tight, but decently tight. Honestly I was worried about damaging the threads, but now it leaks.

Take a look at the pic, you will have to zoom in a little, are the threads damaged in some way? I know I cut into the back a little, how much of an issue is this? How hard should it be to get this thing tight, do I need to use a cheater bar, etc...

I did look on ebay from some taps, and found these.

I think these are the right pitch and size.

Any help would be appreciated.
