Something does not seem quite legal here. Smells like a bait and switch type deal to me. Post a low price to get people to the site, people order stuff, cancel all orders on the "pricing error" stuff.

I don't think it's illegal. You can always return anything else you bought. My not as cynical about these things as most others. I think when you manage prices for as many products as sears and the like do, they will make mistakes and they will be visible to the public. Just people doing their jobs and they are never correct all the time.

Well not only did I order something I also signed up for an online account at their site just for this order. It looks to me like they got a huge amount of "hits" to their site, probably sold a lot of other stuff people saw while there looking at the pliers, and probably got a lot of new people to sign up online.

Oh and one other thing, if it was a mistake why was it on there site for several days? To get more people to look I do believe.

Darn it...they canceled mine too. I was planning a nice array of Christmas presents for my friends. Now I will have to go shopping, or just buy them a beer

It's worked. And virtually free for them. Whoever got their orders in should consider replying to Sears.

I got the "cancellation" email too. They cancelled my order for pliers and also the other stuff I had on that order.

I really thought it was a clearance deal but I can see now that it was a price error. Sorry for posting this guys I thought that Sears was above making that kind of pricing error.

Hmm.
I just got the same email. The problem is that I placed TWO orders between the 14th and the 16th. I have already received a cancellation notice for one of the orders. The second order is still shown as "processing", with all of the items on it at the Sears site.

I really can't tell which, if any, order has been canceled, because the full amounts for both orders are still charged to my card.

Should I call them?

I got the e-mail but when I picked up some other items at sears tonight the system at the merchandise pick kiosk up still showed the pliers. I figure if Sears is stupid enough to put the pliers on the site for three cents, there is still a chance that I could get an automated phone message telling me to come pick up my pliers.
