I have a trane furnace that is about six years old. The other day, the condensate pump went out. When I replaced it, I had to remove the old one from the furnace since it was hard wired. The new one is plug in. Since I did that, the furnace has been shutting off after its initial heat up and flashing three lights. When I turn off the furnace and turn it back on, it does the same thing. Goes up to desired temp, shuts off, them blinks three red lights! Any suggestions on what to do next?

While the symptom does sound like a flame sensor...........
Is the drain working after the repair.
Just a double check........What does the code chart say on the furnace panel for 3 flashes ?
There should be a code chart with troubleshooting on the service panel or in the instruction book.
Google says 3 flashes on a Trane is the pressure switch ?????? Are all the hoses and wires connected and no holes or tears in the hoses to the pressure switch ? Water is draining from the fan case ?

It is a pressure switch code. It does look like the water is draining since the pump has been going off on a consistent basis. As far as the tubes to the switch go, I have noticed that if I remove the clear tube from the switch and put it right back on, it turns the furnace on. Then it goes right back to off after it hits the temp it is set to. Do it again, it turns on. and so on and so forth.

Call a professional. Believe me, you'll be money ahead.
Unless your chosen "professional" throws a part at it and its still not fix ......and charges you $250.
There are many things a GJ guy can check and fix depending on skill level.......it is important to know your limitations.

Where are you ? It's well below 0 here.....pressure switch error could be indicating one of the vent pipes is iced ? Does the inducer vent blower run ? Does the house fan run ?

It may be that the air proving switch is being activated just by grabbing the tube and then by pulling it off and putting it back on. As Showkey mentioned the proving switch is used to make sure the unit has airflow before the burner fires, first thing to check is the exhaust port to make sure it's not plugged then if you are pulling combustion air from outside you want to be sure that line is not plugged.
I need to explain better. I have it set at 70. When it reaches 70 it turns off. As it goes below 70, it never turns back on unless I remove the tube going to the switch.Where are you ?
