I read most of this and my opinion is, "Who GAF why it was pawned?"

Also can't understand why some one would purchase a "puke green" Snap-On tool to begin with.

One post here says it was stolen and pawned. This happens less frequently than one thinks. Around here to pawn you have to show I.D.. The cops are in and out those shops all the time looking for "hot" stuff. If I was a thief, that would be the last place I'd go to cash out.

If the item is "hot" and reclaimed the pawn shop takes the hit and lost their investment.

I have a buddy that will borrow beer(food) money because he's broke after buying that "special" tool off the tool truck. Screwed up sense of priorities to me. A week later he questions his smarts for spending the $dough$.

Puke green? That was uncalled for! Lol

I could go on and on about how I think people throw money down the drain by buying overpriced tools...but I won't.

Whoever pawned that tool, could have bought a Dewalt (for example) in the first place, and still have the tool AND bread on the table today. JMO

So a Snap-On box opens faster than a HF box? First I've heard of that. :p

No, but a loaded snap on box will open and close as it should and not with your foot like a cheap box would in a professional environment. I get that you can't picture yourself every purchasing such a thing but that doesn't mean you have to spread your negative opinions on everyone else.

Why stop at hating on snap on? Do you purchase 2-ply toilet paper? 1 ply will do the trick if you are smart about it. How about vehicles? Why buy a large vehicle when you just stack people on top of each other? You get where I am going with this?

Funny you mention this, as I do have single ply TP next to my porcelain la-z-boy.

And in today's world...most boxes out there now have ball bearing drawer slides which negate your comment. My 3/4" drive drawer on my HF box opens and closes just as well as the plier drawer on my $4000 Mac box.

Don't misunderstand me. If someone wants high-dollar stuff...then by all means buy it. But if someone thinks they need it just because thats what the other guys in the shop have....well, that's where I will disagree.

The guy that paints wheels and changes tires in my shop has more $$ in his box and tools than me, and i've been in it for over ten years!!! He doesn't even do 5% of the work I do every day. Thats kids these days, been that way for a long time. To the OP, thumbs up, If one entry level mechanic reads this and it sinks in maybe the world will be better for him. I donno

Disregard the post, apparently I offended people. This had nothing to do with the pawn shop, who pawned it or who might buy it. It was more a rant about seemingly, to me at least, waste full spending.

Why do you care about either enough to remove your post? This is a public forum, people are going to get pissy about all sorts of things. Who cares, you have your oinion and they have theirs.. :dunno:
