Can anyone tell me the approximate discharge temperature for air conditioning of a 10,000 BTU unit. I realize it may vary with outside ambiant air temperatures and other conditions.

I don't know if this will help, but perhaps put it in perspective . . . 1000 BTU/h is approximately 293 W (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTU). So a 10,000 BTU air conditioner has to dump 2930 watts worth of heat. That's a lot of light bulbs if you think about it. 143 Btu will melt a pound of ice . . . so you could melt about 70 lbs of ice with 10K BTU unit. Yike!
