My username doesn't apply anymore, about 3 years ago I bought a house with an attached single car garage. Since then just been trying to find the best way to organize all the junk in my garage. A week or so ago I picked up the tool chest from my dad (who also frequents this board) at a very reasonable price as he decided to go with the glossy finish rather than the matte. Anyway I cleaned the garage out in preparation for the chest so I thought I would post some pics to share what I've done and see if anyone has comments or suggestions. I don't plan on doing too much more as I won't be in this house for more than 4 or 5 more years.

New tool chest, don't have quite enough tools to do it justice yet

put up a shed if you can, gets you some extra space to store lawn and garden stuff. Prolly the bikes too.

Looks great though.

I've been thinking about this... I don't want to spend $1k+ though, and I'm concerned that the pre-built plastic ones that go for $400-600 won't keep the elements and critters out nearly as well as the garage.

I bought a used plastic shed from a friend about 6 years ago. It has survived the Utah mountain winters pretty well, and keeps the lawn mower and such dry. Only thing I have to do in the winter is make sure the snow doesn't pile up against the door -- one winter I had some leaking in through there as the snow melted and got through the door opening.

Otherwise it's been a functional/cheap answer for sorting the yard ****.
