Tie down hooks

Does anybody know a tie down attachment that will work with 2" wide flat hooks? My trailer has rub rails around 90% of the permiter , so the flat hooks work great, except for the section over the wheels where there is no tie down because of the fenders. There is a heavy, welded D ring installed, which is fine for chains, but it doesnt work for straps with hooks

I was thinking about maybe a piece of e-track and putting the hooks into it, its wide enough, but its not the correct use of the track and being on an open trailer, it will pack full of ice. . All the lighter duty d-rings like this, wont fit the width of the hooks.

Short of going with the J hook style and putting in some lighter duty D rings Im out of ideas. Max weight capacity it should see would be 2500lbs

Cheapest, easiest is buy some straps with hooks.
I think I saw 2" x 27' straps at hd for 10$ each.

I looked through the tie downs on etrailer and other than E track or stake pockets, didn't see anything useful. Might be stuck with different straps or adding some pockets somewhere.

Could you use an adapter? Just install the d rings like you linked, then use something like this with a quick link or an s hook. Your flat hook goes through the flat hole and on the other side, you use an s hook, quick link, caribeaner, or whatever to go through the round hole and then around the d ring bolted to the trailer.

Straps are inexpensive and basically a consumable. Just buy a different set of straps that work with your D rings.

I have the same problem with a beefy set of straps I got for free. My plan was to drill a hole in the center of the the flat hook so I can stick a S-hook or something thru it, or bolt a S-hook to it.

they're still in the bag on the shelf. I just bought 4 more ratchet straps with S hooks, I should probably just sell the flat hook ones

That tab is exactly what I was thinking of thanks. Only issue I have is keeping it low profile.

I do have some J hook style straps, but I prefer the flat style hooks if I have the choice. Plus Id like to settle on a common style.

Or take those and put a bend in them and bolt them down angled in the direction of the straps. May not be enough material on them to do that, but they could easily be ordered sized appropriately from a service like send cut send
