Tig/mig ???

Hope that I'm posting this in the correct catagory. I'm currently in the process of re-evaluating my welding needs. I plan to get a smaller MIG (will serve my needs well) and eliminate my TIG (Have not used it enough to justify). The MIG is a Miller 35 (with Rotunda label) which has the SK-35 Spot Weld Panel. It's a great machine, I've had it a for years, and have taken very good care of it, however, now I don't have as much room as I once did, and would like to sell it.

The TIG is a Lincoln 175 Square Wave, which I purchased new several years ago, thinking I might get into more TIG welding. Never happened, and as a result, the machine has maybe 10 hours on it. The cart is home made and has storage under the welder.

I'm posting pictures of both welders, hoping I can get an outsiders perspective on what a fair market value might be on each machine, along with ideas for selling (C/List?? etc., maybe even here on GJ). Currently, both machines are hooked up and able to perform, however, the tanks I would have to keep.

JMO, but I see those Millermatics usually selling ~$750 and the smaller Lincoln tigs ~$1200.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm thinking of letting them go for about 1/2 that. I suppose, on the right day, with the right guy, you could be right. I'm not interested in having them listed somewhere for a long time really. I want to sell them. I thought about $450.00 for the Miller 35, and about $750.00 for the Lincoln.

I'd probably put them up at ~$1K for the tig and ~$500 for the mig. Even though the tig looks pretty clean and low hours, those machines don't have an hour meter to prove it. If all it needs is a gas bottle to get running, that would be a pretty good deal.

The mig is a nice machine, but the smaller mig welder market is extremely competitive due to increase in techonology with new machines, that the older machines such as the 35 (especially the rebranded ones) greatly dropped in value on the used market. Should something ever happen, repairing an old mig machine can be a very expensive, frustrating, and at times a seemingly impossible adventure.

Good points. Also, a consideration (IMO), it pretty much needs to be fairly local (buyer). I do have them hooked up and ready to test out.
