I am not done yet but I thought I would share some pictures of the coolant tank I welded up yesterday. The tank was made from a piece of 6 in ID aluminum tube 26.5" tall that was laying around, it has some heavy pitting but no holes through and it was free. I added 3 NPT bungs to the side and a fancy fill cap for the top. It hold 3 gallons of coolant with some room to spare. I have a carbonator pump on the way to replace the intank EFI pump.

Not shown on the back is a sight level gauge so show how full the tank is.

Here are a couple pictures of the cooler (circulator) mounted to the welder. I have decided to ditch the heat exchanger for now, the fan in the back of the welder moves a lot of air over the aluminum tube that is the reservoir.

I still need to add a brace of aluminum angle along the edge of the plate that I used. For now I am just plugging the pump in ever time I use the welder but I plan on wiring it into the welder to come on when I turn the welder on.

Very cool. I was just contemplating on how to build one myself, since adding one to my Miller Syncrowave would cost as much as the unit itself.

Thanx, Chainz

It is amazing how much they want for a cooler and coolant. I ended up using a silicate and phosporous free Dexcool mixxed with distilled water.
