Was curious what some of you guys have done to organize/store your tig torch parts (cups, collets, lens', tungsten etc...) my collection of those things appear to be growing more and more and am in need for some inspiration to get myself organized
Plano See Thru Plastic Boxes, One for Stubby Alumina kit, one for Stubby Pyrex, one for Standard Alumina, one for Standard Pyrex, All with appropriate Gas Lenses etc...
One kit has a couple of each size tungsten I use, a pack of NEW 3/32 and 1/16 2% Lanthanated LIVES in my handheld tungsten grinder box...
Have one for MIG consumables and such as well.
damn, well I already use a clear plastic organizer for my stuff but has gotten too small now that I use both a WP17 and WP9 torches and have dozens of cups, lenses, and collets for each, so i guess i just need a larger one, or two medium sized ones to keep my 17's from my 9's...was kind of hoping someone on here had some really neat idea
I too use one of those organizers for most of my TIG stuff, with a few spaces reserved for plasma cutter consumables. I can fit one or two gas lenses of the same size in a square space, with all of their matching collets. But I've got a 20 sized water cooled torch. I've also got a 17 sized air cooled torch (that I don't really use any more) and those parts are much larger and didn't fit well into one plastic organizer tray (they're not buried with the torch out of sight and out of mind).
The tungstens (I've got about 70 of them) stay in the plastic cases they came in, in an adjacent drawer. They too don't store well in the organizer tray.
Like pretty much everyone else, I use tackle holders. I get the Plano ones that have the adjustable dividers. I use the same ones for my plasma consumables as well.
I used a plastic organizer until I got another welder cart. the enclosed HF one with the drawers/cabinets. top drawer comes with metal dividers, which made it nice to organize both my tig parts and mig parts all in one drawer.
The unit I have is gray, but is the exact same thing. It works great and holds pure or 2% lanthanated on one side and 2% thoriated on the other. I have many trays of tungstens and they stay in a drawer with helmet lenses, extra parts, and anything I don't need all the time.
