i would save up and buy a used miller syncrowave 250. they are reasonably priced, dependable machines with the ability to do ac/dc tig and stick up to 250 amps.
I had my first experience welding with, what was essentially a Stick machine converted to TiG (Granted, it was actually an ultra-portable Tig Welder) about 3 weeks ago.
Dont bother with that route, its a hassle and you will just get even more frustrated while your on the learning curve.
