Tight space ladder/stairs to loft

I have a small detached garage (12x20) which has a storage loft. I've been using an extension ladder but I'm getting tired of it being in the way, plus it is hard to carry items up/down using it. There has got to be a better way, looking for suggestions!

I use a 10' Werner 300# rated platform step ladder to access my loft and only erect it when it's needed. Much more stable than an extension ladder and when hung on the wall takes up negligible space.

Maybe an 8' would work for your application?

Werner AA10 - can use as small as a 24x24 hole, very small landing area.

Great suggestion. I also saw the Werner AA1510 which looks like it should work for me and is much less expensive than the AA10.

Any other ideas please toss them in!
