Tile and 2 post lift

Guys - I was all ready to pull the trigger on an epoxy floor when I read a couple of threads on porcelain and ceramic tiles. I am headed to my local Lowes to look at tile selection. My questions, for those that have tile and 2 post lifts. Do you tile to the 2 post lift or do you tile and then set your 2 post lift? If you tile to the 2 post lift...how do you "finish" the joint at the 2 post lift? Thanks

DO NOT install a two post lift on top of any tile, or any other flooring for that matter. If the weight of the lift alone doesn't break the tile, the weight of the car on it will.

Not sure on how to "finish" near the lift, but I would assume you could use the same type of stuff they use to transition from tile to carpet, then just glue it down.

A two-post lift would probably not break a PEI 4 or 5 floor tile. But I would still not want an additional layer between the lift and the slab it's sitting on. I would install the lift, and then tile around it.

My friend had a new 2 post installed, the company did not wanted to install it on the tiles. No ceramic, no other.
They always put it on the concrete for safety reasons.

keep some spare tiles to put on the 2post spot if you ever replace it.

The groundplate of the lift will be about the same hight as the tiles. You can use a silicone kit to make it look nice.

Use aluminum tile edge to finish the tile. Click my garage reno in my sig to see what I mean.
