Tile and spalled concrete

I'm pretty certain I'll be tiling my garage but first I wanted to ask had anyone tiled over spalled concrete. I read some info and did some searching. I've gotten mixed information from grinding it down to just clean it and lay the thinset and go. Also if anyone has some before and after would be awesome.

Sorry guys my Google foo was broken or at the very least using the wrong keyword searches. I'm just hoping for confirmation the I can just double butter the tile over the spalled concrete after cleaning it.

Can't see why not. Got any pics. Click the links in my sig. My concrete was pretty crappy. 2 years now, going strong, not one issue. Leave the grinding for Epoxy. I just scrapped up loose paint, swept, and hosed the floor. If I had to do it again, I would skip the hosing part. My floor was so uneven, that the water created mud, and went everywhere. This made me sweep the floor again, like 10 times, getting the puddles out.
