Tile floor walk-on feel

I received samples of Tru-Lock and Race Deck. Both have the same hard plastic feel. I was hoping for something more rubbery. I put them down on concrete and tried to imagine how they would feel to walk on in a bigger area. I think I read some put an underlayment of some type to reduce the clicky noise while walking on them.

For the ones that have the tiles, is it non issue? Does the underlayment help?

I've had both RaceDeck diamond tiles (2 different garages) and now a RaceDeck FreeFlow floor in my 1,000 sq. ft. garage. When I had the solid tiles the first time, I didn't lay anything underneath, and it was a bit noisy. On my second garage, I laid down nonwoven landscape fabric underneath it to reduce the "clickity clack" and it worked fine.

For the FreeFlow, there is no noise and no underlayment needed. I like the feel of the FreeFlow, it has just a bit of flex to it.

Hi, take a look at our solid industrial grade PVC www.supratile.com interlocking tiles. They are not hollow and are much more comfortable to walk on vs polypropylene tiles. We can send samples, please see website to order. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I just ordered a couple samples. I think PVC is the correct application for me.

I have the TruLock HD Coin tiles. I put landscape fabric down and they click a little but I got used to it. I can definitely hear the dog coming. Garage Flooring LLC was great to work with.

We carry both the solid PVC and the hollow. 90% of our sales are the solid. They are really though very different products and similar only in that they cover floors!

Like all products, there are pros and cons. I have rigid tile in my garage which includes a workout area and I love it. I do have landscape fabric below it. For nonautomotive garages, PVC is a good choice. We do sell PVC too. The thing that bothers me is it can stain from tires.

I have the "garagedeck" from bigfloors. To me the noise is a non-issue. I did put down landscape felt but I don't think it was very helpful. My floor is not "clicky" in the sense that you hear cracking at the seams or anything like that. Just has that hollow sound when you walk on it. Its a garage so noise isnt really a concern for me. Overall I'm very happy with the floor.

"Match your flooring to the intended use of the garage." After 7 1/2 years I have no complaint about my RaceDeck Free Flow flooring. I'll do it again if I ever have to. CJDave.

Where do you live? I am proud to show off my floor if you want to drive to the Cincinnati area. CJDave.

I was looking for the same thing, Try the Flex Nitro Tiles from Flooringinc, it's that flex PVC tile you are looking for.

I would also say, check out the PlastiPro-Loc garage floor tiles from Costco if you are looking for the vented type, which is what I was going to use but at the end I decided to do the Nitro tiles because I wanted the "Smooth" feeling.
