hey guy's,i've used red gaurd for awhile now with great results, but what i haven't used it on yet is glass.i have a 5x5 shower i'm doing right now with two 40'' windows in it.the windows have wood frames and i was thinkin of coating all wood areas, then covering with 1/2 backer, then top coating the backer with the red gaurd again.

what i was thinking of doing is,taping off the windows edge about a 1/4 inch and letting the red gaurd get on the glass, this way i know the theres no chance of water getting in between the glass and the wood and creating problems down the road.anything coated would be covered by the stone i'm using.

and before anyone ask's,both of these windows face the woods and the outsides are getting covered with visthrough.

question is,has anyone had a similiar situation, and did the red guard bond to the glass? i'm not a fan of silicone in a situation like this.

I have used the product quite a bit. I haven't used it on glass but it seems to stick to just about anything so it would be worth a try, heck that stuff will stick to air!

I use it in boat building.. We've used it 1 1/2" up the side of 1/2" lexan (see-thru livewell) and it stuck fine. However, we did etch the lexan.. Maybe you should try chemically etching the glass area first before painting. Then absolutely no doubt it will stick.
