Tile Question

I'm thinking about installing some type of adhesive tile flooring. I need something that will stand up to a floor jack and a rolling bike lift. Also, because there are motorcycles involved, it can't be too slick when riding in after coming out of the rain.

Any suggestions or are my needs unreasonable for tile?

I just got some armstrong commercial grade vinyl tiles to do my garage floor with. I have a bike and also had the concern about the slickness of the tiles once installed. I believe that I am going to get a got transparent sealer to put over top and spread some fine white sand into the sealer, I'm hoping this is going to give the floor a little more grip. hope this helps

Avoid sand for that purpose. Its sharp edges make it difficult to clean, and its relative weakness allows it to crumble and break down over time.

Our EnduraShield 2254 with SuperGrip will protect your vct, increase traction, and look great!

I too am looking at installing VCT tile once the weather gets warmer and am also concerned about the slickness. Does anyone have a pic of the a VCT tile floor with the EnduraShield applied over?

I can't recall any pics where you can actually see the SuperGrip, but I'll look around. The EnduraShield itself is water clear. In fact a few times people have reported that they had to go back and recoat some spots because it's so clear they couldn't tell where it had been applied from where it hadn't and they missed a few spots.

The SuperGrip is very fine grained, holding a bunch of it you wonder if the granules are even large enough to be effective, but they are. So the visible relief is pretty subtle. They are whitish, so against darker solid backgrounds you can spot them if you're looking for 'em.

I think SuperGrip is what we used in hospitals for a while. There is/was a problem with the older folks slipping and falling. It got to the point where we couldn't even wax the floors or they would refuse to walk on them.

SG is great and really increases traction. It even has a decent shine to it. Its a little harder to clean, but I doubt you would even notice it.
