Tile vs Mat

Hello!

Just moved into our first single-family home and I'm excited to get the garage spruced up. Our old condo was a one-car and I used cheap tiles on it (can't remember the brand). While I did like the look of it, I wasn't a big fan of the noise it made while walking on it.

I went to the Garage Flooring site (just ordered a tile sample) and noticed they also offer mats. Got me thinking.. Are there any pros/cons using mats instead of actual tiles?

If you go with tiles, put landscape fabric down under the tiles. I just did my second RaceDeck install yesterday, and adding the fabric made a world of difference over my old garage.

CSR, I saw your install and you did a great job with it. I never thought about the landscape fabric! I keep looking at the price of all the tiles I need and balk every time. I'll just have to knuckle down and get 'em.

The noise can be mitigated with landscape fabric. Other than parking your car in the garage, how is it used? Tile Vs. Mats my personal opinion

Besides storing tools and garden/lawn equipment, that's pretty much it. It'll be a simple setup. I just hate looking at dirty concrete floors. :D

If I do decide to go the tile route, I'll definitely install the landscape fabric!
