well, I went on vacation, the motor quit working on my boat. However, I drove past a troybuilt (sp?) tiller. I'm sick of trying to till my garden with the peice of **** excuse for a tiller that I own. So, I figured, "what the hell, 750.00 for a solid tiller... may as well spend my money on that... as if I really have any money to spend!!" As far as I can tell, the new model of this tiller is around 3000 dollars. It has a briggs and straton (sp?) motor.
It currently resides in my car. I'm hoping to find a new home for it soon. I have a shed that will be the tiller's new home. But, I have to build a ramp for it, and designate an area to store the tiller.
Well, I'm excited about my new purchase--- if you can't tell! Hope everyone is doing well. cheers, bird

horse or pony? horse are the ones to get for all the attachments and there build strength. the pony is adequate though. if you paid 700 for a horse, even 20 years old its a deal, but if its a pony............ better be brand new!

Not to hijack the thread but what is the going rate on a used horse model tiller? I recently picked one up made in 1975. Needs an oil seal on one of the axles but other than that it seems fine.

Does your Horse have the Kohler engine? These never go down in value. What yours is worth depends on condition, attachments and maintenance it received.

A good older one fetches around $3-400 around here. That's what I sold my freshly painted early 80s Troy Built Horse 6hp Tecumseh for last year ($400). The little Pony ones can be had for even less.

It was a great tiller. Much better than a front tine. But, I got sick of pulling weeds and killing snakes every day :lol_hitti
