I am working on these tilt bins:

I'll be removing the clear plastic bins and painting the brown plastic frame red. Then I plan to put a wooden frame around the whole works painted black. I am wondering if anyone could suggest a certain spray paint I could apply to the brown plastic that would adhere well, be durable and be craftsman red? has anyone done this?

I have had good luck with krylon fusion - it is made for plastic and seems to hold up pretty well. Not sure what they offer for red in that brand.

Krylon "fusion" is designed for plastic. However I have not used it.
If the plastic is super smooth you should rough it up with a scotchbrite pad.

I've used the Krylon Fusion on numerous plastic projects. It works great, no priming, sand, etc. and easy to apply. I have used it on a lot of outdoor projects, it hold up very well. I have also used it on football helmets for Jr. Pro and held up great after playing 6 games. After 24 hours you are not suppose to apply any more coats it fully cured in 7 days.

Not sure what red is available in Krylon Fusion, but for a craftsman color match I found Rustolium Regal Red to be almost an exact match on metal. In the attached photo of the tool box, the side screwdriver holder is painted in the Regal Red and the box is a stock craftsman. One coat and no clear coat is what I did. (Lazy me)

I have used Krylon on plastic exterior window shutters. Bought the bulk paint in a can from Ace hardware and sprayed it using the Harbor Freight purple spray gun. Both worked great.

I've shot a couple of things with TSC's paint (Majic) and I really like it. Whether out of a quart can (using hardener and thinner) or whether out of a rattle can, the paint lays down glass smooth

I might play around with a few of these and see what comes out best, maybe test the back of each and see how they look dried on. Great info here, thank you all.
