The guys got the ceiling hung today. Blow in insulation is going in wedsday or Thursday. I got confirmation that the ceiling will have an r-40 when they're done. Hopefully the overhead doors will follow towards the end of the week.
I decided to hang steel on the top 8' of the walls and go with osb on the bottom half. I'll add a picture of my buddies shop to give you all an idea. 67421102e44563eb373d6ba7b690fdca.jpg85f353ec58cb1d4efda04c01bbd9a0c9.jpgba5e5f183de85c9bd3e7bf79623f2549.jpged1d6f2fc78022ed385326df162e84c0.jpga24e9e003cd01abb86fe0464948e4b84.jpga32cca18be3e3130f59b8048e0f53136.jpg

One of the cleanest spray foam jobs I've seen. Awesome looking space you have.

Thank you. My friends who sprayed the foam take a lot of pride in what they do.

Awesome build
Thank you!

Well today they got the blow in insulation up in the attic, installed the finished entry door and wrapped the beams on the porch. Hoping for overhead doors in the next few days. 2cd7da0509b60d559d52aee8fcde1860.jpgb929095f88269961c1d10c6b182809a5.jpg3844223fcd76e9c9b03fc44fd4f95648.jpgde82ee097ae18422c81c420e20da14c5.jpg

Nice build! Wish I could do that kind of build where I live. It would be a dust pile in a matter of years from the voracious termites we get. You can't keep up with nature in my neck of the woods. The termites eat everything including foam insulation to make their tunnels, plastic, wood... We had a section of metallic bubble wrap insulation that was discovered during our remodel that was all tunneled through by those termites. Crazy. We treat our house every year and combat ceiling hangers on a bi-monthly basis.

Picking up where I left off. Blow in insulation went in Thursday and overhead doors were installed friday. Over the weekend, with the help of some friends we were able to get the lights installed over the main portion of the shop. I went with 16 8' 4200 lumen led fixtures from lithonia. The lights are split on two switches, back two rows and front two on seperate switches. I'll install the lights under and above the mezzanine once I get that built. I also decided on installing four 56" commercial ceiling fans to help move some air.
I picked up the rest of the material to finish the walls over the weekend.
Progress has slowed as I'm in the middle of re plumbing our pool and replacing a bunch of old pipes. e48e6a61a466a64ef681979e45e3babe.jpg985e5208c78f8446428bc0a763c1717b.jpged463634eeff8eeeacdbd7aa329dedfb.jpg66c2d56b6294a45a619621a85106ee8f.jpg6bb8c19f8ab875f35455a94318db2cfa.jpg223cbf99a5211c171445bfc7e7cd89dd.jpg5fbfbfe9fbd4d937f3202b1dd05e6e77.jpg

We were able to get the lights hung last weekend over the main shop area. This week/weekend I made some headway on installing more girts on the walls, hanging steel and osb, getting the ceiling fans up and getting power to the openers.
I was also able to get the concrete poured back around the pool. Picked out the plants for the pool area and I'll have my putting green redone.af7f31a4aff01031fafc4becec659c60.jpg472f2e03a2276551ac30c2f5bcabcef4.jpg100031084198c7f6551d669ee85ef4a3.jpg6899a7be9312e51cf9581da4311a6a08.jpg383ecbe054b865403681708897cb3ccd.jpgf58ae1753f9d26135e7b6d45ce10c169.jpgf2f5c90d10af0e0cafe380e965444dda.jpg703f0160ab3bfca60041230f8161c510.jpgc12e15d5817093db24ca9ce786702df0.jpgdd588f4f04088cb4d91071c9e43f714d.jpg61eb21eead3afa2a38a3a8640524f913.jpgb43545e8e0b8f80a8cd36395c9370e6d.jpg

I did that project on our pool 4 years ago, what a P.I.T.A.

I hope to do a shop building project of similar size in the near future!!
Yes it has been a pain. I just couldn't stomach the idea of filling the pool in. We enjoy it too much. A pool is definitely a labor of love.
