Time for a new compressor...HELP!

OK, I've decided to get a new compressor for my main garage. The one I have now is a Husky, and it kinda *****. It's VERY loud yet surprisngly enough it is from their "quiet series" of models...HAH!!

Here it is...

My situation is one that I need to be able to separate the actual compressor/motor part from the tank because I have the two parts in different locations. I don't need anything huge, sine it is mainly used to fill tires, blow dust off of cars, and work the safety pistons on my Bendpak lift. I would really like something that is as quiet as possible, but still has about a 30 gallon tank.

Can anyone make a suggestion as to which ones to consider?

Your needs are not too demanding, I might suggest going for quality in a small compressor. I've used these on construction jobs and they will drive a couple framing nailers. They cycle more often, but they are quiet enough to put in the room when you are doing trim work and running brad guns. They make a larger model. The tank size just tells you the cycle time, the pump tells you the volume you can create. This is an "oil" pump, doesn't have the buzz the oil- less units like your Husky. About $250 for this one.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into something like that. My compressor motor is mounted on the wall, so I will need something that can be detached from the tank and mounted the same way.
