Time for a sub-forum for professional technicians/mechanics?

There seems to be quite a few threads in free parking with techs discussing work-related issues. Things like flat rate work at dealerships, service writer problems, etc. Most of these don't really concern the average guy here who has a hobby shop in his garage. Would it be feasable to give these guys thier own corner of the sandbox to play in?

I say no, I'd rather have some clutter in the forums we have.. that way it looks like there's some life on the boards. If you have a subforum for every possible topic, then it ends up being a ghost town

Sounds feasible but there would need to be some proof of qualifications etc to know we weren't dealing with the shade tree boys.

there are a lot of forums that have posts about a given subject; for instance do lift questions go in "the Garage" or "Free parking" or "tools and equipment"? the same can be said about posts by pro technicians/mechanics.
it would be easier to search posts on these subjects if they can be confined to one forum instead of being posted all over GJ willi nilly wise.
I too am a professional auto tech and like seeing these posts but seeing them scattered through out GJ.

I actually came on today looking for someone to tell me "the right place" for lift questions as I remember actually seeing a poll on giving lifts and jacks their own new section here. I never saw the result but being as how there is no section just for them I guess it didn't "pass"? but the OP's subject of this thread, could have the same argument made for it, as well.

maybe a sub forum for those guys to ask questions within of those of us who have "been there done that"? I wouldn't want to exclude anyone, I think that those 'in the know" could squash out the wannabee's that really claim to know but don't, that's different from the occasional DIY'er that comes to that section to ask those questions.
