That was very interesting to watch. What kind of siding is that?

thanks, it's cedar, with a sikkens stain.

and thanks to the forum for being instrumental in the process. i learned a lot here. specifically a lot about lifts, air compressor's and air lines, garage heat, etc...

i wouldnt be so happy with the way the garage turned out, if it werent for this forum.

That video is awesome.

And I guess if you figure in the cost of the structure and the cars that fill it, it might rival some big Hollywood productions. :)

Video, Garage & cars all very cool, in fact “mega cool” to be honest

BTW what software did you use for the time lapse ?

Reason I ask, is that brother in law set up a DSR on a tripod at a neighbours house during his house build & took pictures at regular intervals while his house was being built. Now he wants to go about creating a time lapse vid of the build.

i just used windows movie maker. each day i took pics (dslr on a tripod inside my house) at about 1 every 2 mins. everyday i would take the pics (3-400 a day) and import them into WMM and make a little clip. at the end i just put the clips together, and made the movie. u have to go into the WMM settings and make the duration of the pic as small as possible, then when u have it as a clip, use the "video effects" button to speed it up.

the end sequence i just made on a free evening. it was one pic every 4 seconds.

it took my builder 25 days of work to build it, over a 40 day period. we had delays due to weather, building supply delays, and the power company.

Cheers for the info

Wow a picture every 2 mins or so, I don't think my brother in law will have half enough pics so. But sure we'll give it a go & see what happens.

the red one is a ferrari 360 modena (3 pedal car, not f1), the white is a 911 carrera 4 convertible (996), the yellow corvette is a C5 Z06, the yellow porsche is a 911 carrera 2 with the factory aero kit (a fake 996 gt3 basically), and the lambo is a first year murcielago with roadster wheels.

thanks!

That is a really nice garage/car collection! One question though...why only a three car? Why not a five+?

believe me, it was considered. even mid build i had 2nd thoughts and thought about adding a bay.

but the reasons it wasnt bigger were these:
1. my wife really didnt want it to dwarf the house. the house is pretty average sized.

2. a two post lift was a definite, so the ceiling was going to be high (13 ft floor to ceiling). if the ceiling was going to be so high, storage lifts maximize parking for cheaper than adding another bay. i had planned another 4 post in the empty bay, but it hasnt been necessary yet, and i like the empty work space when i need it.

3. costs were already getting to be more than i was expecting

4. if i added more bays, i woudl probably end up buying more cars, and i think my wife wanted to prevent this. ha.

oh btw, i dont really store a car on the two post. i just did it for the pics.

It kinda reminds me of my three car garage. Except mine is missing the Ferarri, the lambo, the two porsche's, and the corvette.

1000 Cool points for that presentation.

Great looking toys you have there.

I love it when people work for what they want, and enjoy it.

I am sure you cater for the wife's needs too. (Automotive that is )

Very nice Joey, although the yellow cars have to go! You need more of a variety of color. How bout I trade you my wife’s BLUE mini-van for the lambo? Even trade no problem Ill even meet you half way>

Well done! Thanks for sharing your garage and toys.

Something just doesn't add up here..............:headscrat does anyone else smell a rat?

Ha, not sure what you mean by "rat". I got no one to rat out.

Unless you mean my bear, which is in fact a bear, and not a rat.

Was there a subliminal message in that video somewhere......... The whole time I was watching it, I kept getting these flashes of wanting to buy a porsche.

My brain says, "you must obey". My wallet says, "wake up idiot".

Considering you only have two posts total, not sure what to believe...

to the OP - great setup, great cars.

Please be a father figure to me and tell me how to straighten my life out, since I am obviously doing something wrong... Each of your cars (sans the Vette) cost more than my house.

Very nice, I like the exterior finish. Looks like there is plenty of room inside as well for additonal wall cabinets and such. Is that concrete along the inside wall?

 Love it. Thanks for the work on the vid and for posting it. Many guys will love viewing it. (Smart too!) So tell everyone - what do you do? You obviously have your priorities ummmm.... straight (?).... :bounce:

I've noted this before: My 1000 sq ft garage took 1 week, start to finish. Cement = 2 days; framing to siding = 3 days (crew of 2!), insulation and drywall = 3 days (crew of ME!).....looks like the rest of you need to light a fire under your workers!!!! (meant in a light-hearted way ;) )

Cheers again! (and as for the guy who thinks he smells a rat - check your pants!)
