 Love it. Thanks for the work on the vid and for posting it. Many guys will love viewing it. (Smart too!) So tell everyone - what do you do? You obviously have your priorities ummmm.... straight (?)

I dont really like to advertise what I do. I live in a very small state, and my cars aren't very politically correct in an economy like we have today. So work related people don't know I have them.

I will say, I am 35 yr's old and my wife and I have no kids. My wife shares the passion and the white porsche is hers (i am not a fan of convertibles).

Also, every one of those cars (except the Z06) was bought used. Huge value in used cars that don't get driven much. The Porsches were had for about 30% of sticker and both had under 30k miles when we bought them. The italian cars, well, no way around that, even used they are expensive. But at 50% of sticker (or less) with under 10k miles on them, I still think they are a bargain.

The Z06, I inherited. It was my dad's who passed away. It's a garage queen and only has 5800 miles on it. I don't drive it much, but I'll never sell it.

Thanks Joey for the post with the background. We always look and drool and wonder who it is behind the pictures and you stated it very well. Sorry to hear about your dad. That's where I received many of my tools and I am gratefull for all the lessons I learned using them with my dad.

Congrats on your success and all your collectibles. You're lucky to have a wife with the same passion. I have always heard about bargain cars, but I never thought they could be as cooooool or fun as yours.

Your garage is awesome. Love the vid. My kids enjoy looking for the days it snowed.

Thanks for the pictures for the rest of us to dream.

Very cool.

I just did the same thing... only it had my power in it too (separate conduit of course).

What size is that heater and how well does it work for you?

Thanks.

thanks. it's a 75k mr heater from northern tool running on propane. it was installed towards the end of the winter, so i didnt get to use it too much. the garage is about 1000 sq ft with a 13 ft floor to ceiling height. r33 in the ceiling and r19 in the walls.

it would have no problem raising the temp of the garage from the mid 30's to around 60 degrees in about an hr or less. i would run a regular household fan, on the other side of the garage to mix up the air and get rid of cold spots. i like it alot, and it was really cheap and doesnt seem to use much propane. i was going to go with a 30 ft radiant tube, but this was so much cheaper and i only heat the garage when i'm in it, so it was a better fit for me.

Very appropriate response. The two most telling comments you made are that you and you wife do not have any children, and your wife shares the passion. Those two things alone would allow most middle class couples to afford one of the italians alone.

Sorry to hear about how you got your Vette. Very tough way to add to the fleet. The vette will surely be in your garage for the rest of your life.

My dad and I did a restoration on an old MGB while I was in high school -- we rarely drive it (so little that the annual maintenance, insurance, and inspection costs result in an obscene cost per mile). With all the memories of working on that car with him, I know I'll never be able to get rid of that car. If I ever get to build a garage to my specifications, it will have a place for that car designed into it.

My dad has one of those in his garage/shop -- works like a champ. Last winter, we went out to work on his lawn tractor and within 15-20 minutes the space was nice and toasty.

good show! we share the same state. in fact, back in june i was coming home from work and saw what could very well have been your ferrari, porsche, and lambo all going in the same direction. due to your privacy, i won't say where, but as a car enthusiast, let me say it made my day. i applaud you on your success and can share the feeling of inheriting a desierable car. political correctness be damned. if you see a grey jetta with my username on a europlate, give a wave.

I got my 88 Chevy Dually the same way. While it's not as nice as your Vette it still has the same feeling to it. It had a hard life pulling a 10,000 lb RV for 90% of its miles (150k now), its rusty and doesn't run very well any more but the feeling is the same.

I can surely relate to these comments, though to a lesser degree. I get a hard time often from my co-workers because I have a lot of vehicles, and the ones I show up to work in are a lot nicer than theirs. My secret is the same however, I buy used cars at a portion of the new value, and accept that I will have to do more maintenance than the average person.

As a result, my wife drives a $70,000 (new price) car that we paid less than $18,000 for, and I drive a $45,000 (new price) car that we paid less than $10,000 for. My coworkers drive $25,000 (new price) cars that they paid $25,000 for, and are jealous of what I drive...

Now I'm talking about buying something a little more exotic as a fun car, and they still haven't figured out that I'm not independently wealthy, I just pick and choose a little differently than they do.

3. costs were already getting to be more than i was expecting

that made me chuckle a bit. I never think cost is an issue when i see a garage with a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, 2 Porsche's and a zo6. But I guess its like anything else, without a budget to stick to, those cars probably wouldn't be in the garage.
