Quickie question.

I just had to repour a portion of my garage floor. Part of the re-pour will be under one corner of my 4 post Backyard Buddy 7000lb lift.

4+ inch thick, more like 5 inch.

How long would you let the re-pour cure before placing the lift on it?

BTW, it is 95 degrees or greater every day lately.

Thanks!

A minimum of a week, longer is of course better.
I think about 30 days for full strength.....

yes, as other said, 28 days.

THe other key is to keep it hydraded. cover it with plastic or burlap to keep it wet. Concrete cures.... it if dries it will slow or even stop curing......

the curing rate is a logrithimic function. It cures the quickest the first few days and the first week, and then it slowly drops off....

You could put the lift on it the next day, just not loaded.

putting weight on it is usually ok after a week, if you have to drill holes in it to anchor a lift for example, you need to wait the full 28 days, as concrete will have it's rated strength at that time. After a week you have about 70% of its rated strength.

Thanks guys! This lift requires no drilling. It is portable.

the load on it is minimal, a very small car.

The design strength is at 28 days. Most of the testing that I have seen has it at about 60 to 70 percent of design strength after 7 days. It will continue to build strength after 28 days, but the design is typically for 28 days. The chemical reaction will continue for about 7 years. In hot weather, you should keep it misted with water or covered with damp burlap for the cure time, or it will dry out too fast and be lesser quality and strength.
