Time to pull the trigger on a Miller 211

After a few months of research between Miller 211 and Hobart 210MVP and many other welders I've decided. Looking at current pricing and taxes, I'm thinking Cyberweld is the place to purchase from and for the difference in price along with Miller rebate I think I'm going to go with the Miller 211.

Has anyone else used cyberweld? Are there other online places I should look?

Cyberweld has great reviews, though I cannot speak from personal experience.

Coincidentally, I'm in the same position and have been searching for the best price on a Miller 211.

Is this your first machine / first MIG machine?

Yes this will be my first. I have played around with a welder in high school and college and some on the farm but nothing serious.

Sounds like we are in a similar position. I've always had an interest in welding and fabrication. I took a welding class at the local vocational school recently and have enough projects lined up that a machine is in my future.

I've gone back and forth on buying MIG versus TIG first, but keep coming back to the practicality of MIG for a first machine for my needs.

Hopefully others can chime in on prices and their thoughts.

Did the exact same thing about 4 years ago. Took a welding class and really love having the ability to weld. Have had zero issues with the 211. Between the 211 and my Quincey compressor, not sure which I consider as my favorite purchase.

Cyberweld is a great company to do business with. Bought my Miller Trailblazer plus an additional $5k worth of stuff at the same time from them. They made sure everything was right and called me throughout the delivery time and called after I received everything. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Also I did hours of price comparing and they had the best prices I could find. Also the free freight was a nice bonus.

I recently picked up my first welder and decided on the 211 as well, just got it a week or two ago and been to busy to even set it up :shocking:

I went with welder supply company. Not sure if I can post a link but its just www.weldersupply.com . (No affiliation). I believe they're based out of Illinois. If I remeber they beat cyberwelds price even if it was minimal. I also got free shipping and no tax (to CA). I had a couple email and phone conversations with them and they were very easy to deal with.

My order consisted of:
- the welder, came with a free pair of gloves (tillman, L, no other options)
- digital elite helmet, came with another free pair of gloves
- cover for the welder
- and a consumables kit
The accessories came about as close to $300 as I could get to apply for the $100 back through BWB

Just to give you some more options

I considered Cyberweld but bought it from my local welding supply. The local place could not match Cyberweld on the welder price itself, but by the time I walked out the door with the extra stuff, like wire, helmet, tank, ... I think I may have done better than Cyberweld. There was also a Mother's Day promotion going on and they sent my Mother flowers. :)

I used Cyberweld several years ago for my welder and had no problems. We don't have a Miller dealer close so it was about the only option. And way cheaper than the dealer 100 miles away.

I bought my Millermatic 210 from Indiana Oxygen (IOC) on eBay. Also bought a helmet and other items from them. They ship from the closest Miller warehouse to your location. I highly recommend them.

I looked at Cyberweld and Indiana Oxygen And ended up going with IOC. I can't remember why. I have used Cyberweld for other items and have had no issues. My local supplier pretty much told me to order it online as he couldn't touch the price and the Miller warranty is honored no matter where the unit is purchased. The local outfit gets all my business for gas, gloves, wire, etc. Hard to go wrong with Miller

Have bought from CyberWeld and Indiana Oxygen, good experience with both. Milwaukee rebate on accessories made my decision on a plasma cutter

Cyberweld is great. Nothing wrong with them at all.

When I got my inverter 211 (September 2015), I got it from weldersupply.com. They had the best price by far. Not sure if they do now, but it's worth a shot checking.

As for tank size...if your just a hobbyist, I'd suggest a 125 or 150 (cuft) but no smaller than an 80. It's a reasonable size with plenty of weld time and it won't cost a fortune. If your LWS allows customer owned tanks, but doesn't sell 125's, check weldfabulous.com.

Happy welding

I bought my 211, helmets, consumables, cover, jacket, gloves, magnets, arcstation, and some other items from Cyberweld, in 3 separate orders. Always a good experience. I have to pay tax as they are semi-local to me, but orders placed by early afternoon arrive next day. I look to them first when I need something.

And I love my inverter 211.

isuhunter, what gas cylinder are you going with? Are you thinking about buying a cart as well?

Umm prolly the shorter one the 80CF I believe and I'm going to build my own cart with a tool box. Or I will get harbor freight cart.

I was in the same position last summer and ended up purchasing a Multimatic 215 so I could do Mig, Tig and stick. I love it, though I have only used the Mig function. I desperately needed to fix a few things on my tractor. I am really excited to use it again this summer. Most of my stuff is outdoor in nature so I have rain to contend with.

Appreciate all the feed back guys!!

I'll check out cyberweld, IOC, welding supply and a couple other local places. I plan to buy my tank from local supplier. I have hood (pipeliner) and gloves already.

Now time for a saw.

Plus one here for Cyberweld. I bought my MM140 from them back in '12. Sure wish I had gone ahead and sprung for the 211!! So, instead of Craig's listing and swapping and hoping for a good deal to come along I just bought an AC/DC Thunderbolt for the heavy stuff and called it good.

Now, should I get the Syncrowave 210 or the Diversion 180?

I used cyberweld two years ago for a 211 and about $500 on other Miller items for a rebate. Everything came packaged well, paperwork in order for rebates etc. Would easily recommend and buy from again.

Those stores are really good, out LWS took a ****, everything takes forever or they are out of stock in common items. Never the same thing twice, got to negotiate each piece, cant point and take anything any more or you piss yourself when you see the bill.
Back in the day walk in got the same price as the rest, I never even looked at a bill till afterwards so I knew how much stuff cost as he gave a reasonable price on it all.

Do yourself a favor and buy the 125 CF. Not much more than the 80 for 50% more gas.

Same story here. It's always "do you have an account?" and then the price drops. Last time I had them order in a large qty of hinges for me (that they stock) they charged me UPS for that box. Um, why order thru the store then?

Anyway OP try BUILDIT2017 for $15 off at IOC. Dunno if that will give them an edge over Cyberweld. I bought my first 80cf cylinder from Cyberweld in '03, no problems. But leasing a 250 locally is actually my easiest and best deal these days. That's just me, in some areas buying a tank is great.

I bought my Miller 211 and plasma cutter from Cyber Weld and I bought helmet tanks and other things from Praxair locally. Best decision I have made in years. I don't know how I got along with out it. Now I am looking into a tig machine. They didn't offer the combination machine when I bought mine.

Did anyone mention that Cyberweld place yet? It is a great place to order a miller 211 from.

Here is what I'm finding. Local welding supply cannot come close to these prices I'm afraid. Plus all of these are tax free.

Cyberweld: MM211 ($1079) + Cover ($50) = $1129

IOC: MM211 ($1095) + Cover ($44) - $15 (new member email signup) = $1124

WeldingSupply: MM211 ($1078) + Cover ($42.95) = 1120.95 + free gloves

Are the rebates from Miller the same on all of them?

Looks like taxes will probably sway you if so.

Close your eyes and take a pick. All are reputable dealers. I've had three great experiences with IOC, so they get my vote.

I bought from my local welding place because if there's a warranty issue, I hop in my truck and hand it off to them to deal with. I don't want to get into shipping my welder.

Miller warranty is honored no matter where the unit is purchased.

You implied that you would have to ship your welder for service, which is not the case.

Private welding supply companies are not required to handle warranties for welders they don't sell. Translation: If I purchased a welder on Cyberweld, I cannot warranty it through my local welding supply place. Is that more clear for you?
