I didn't realize mislocating tools was a prosecutable offense in the US. I knew it was in Germany.
Pretty sure inch sized ratchets and metric ratchets are not permitted to reside in the same toolbox in Germany.
Last I looked German techs could have US screwdrivers and proper screwdrivers in the same toolbox as long as they were marked accordingly (warning label). "VORSICHT! Amerikanisher Schraubendrehen"
It's a shame anyone should have an issue actually using a hand tool warranty, but unfortunately there are horror stories for every brand. Maybe I've been lucky, maybe my experience is the norm, but either way I still suggest the OP get a set from a brand that stocks individual sockets. Impacts do wear out. And whether Tekton, Gearwrench, Grey Pneumatic, Proto, a truck brand, etc.. it's easier to warranty an individual impact socket than an entire set, and if the brand does hassle you on warranty or you just lose one, at least you know you'll be able to replace an individual socket in your set with a matching one.

I have the Sunex 1/2 metric set. Very good Taiwanese sockets. A couple of them are showing a tiny bit of square drive wear, but very minor.
My 3/8 set is Wright and notably higher quality. I also really like how Wright does prominent engraving vs just a laser etch.
The Sunexes have all the laser marks worn off and I find it a bother to figure what the size is.
The Tektons have some etching but it's a bit small:
I like big prominent etching and I cannot lie.

Wanted to just sidebar here and tell you that the Craftsman warranty process online is alive and well.
This shite 90's Craftsman ratchet gave it up recently after my son was using it to take off a skidplate on his 4-wheeler:
This was given to him by his grandpa along with many other 80's/90's craftsman tools. I opened a warranty claim online and got an answer back the same day. I did tell them I wasn't the original owner and didn't purchase this using my own money. I had to provide my address and place the claim # on a sheet of paper next to the ratchet and photo it, but it was a quick and easy process:
Maybe not as easy as the HFT process, but total time invested is maybe 5 minutes and I'm sure the ratchet I'm getting in return is much better then this turd.

I went with Capri over the Milwaukee impact sockets. The Capri sockets seem pretty solid so far without the premium price of Milwaukee.

Bought Craftsman impact socket sets from Lowes few years ago works fine, deep SAE, deep and shallow metric. These set skips 20mm. I would probably buy Tekton if skips bother me.

Grey Pneumatic don't countersink the drive end. I always thought that was a cheesy way to cut production costs.
I have everything from 1/4" to 1" guns. Air and some M18.
IR 2135 and the 700 or whatever bust a nut torque M18 in 1/2"

Skipping a 20mm would not bother me much. Not a very common size in my day to day and can track down one if I really need one

Skipping 11mm is fine as long as I have 7/16 sae. Set not having a 16'mm would be majorly annoying!!!!

That’s what 5/8” is for.
I have the Sunex 1/2" 'master' set, and they've been solid. I somehow managed to bork the square side of the 18mm (really no idea how that happened - can't even recall using it until I needed it and saw the damage after it wouldn't mount). I submitted a warranty claim on their site and got the replacement in my mailbox 2 days later. I was pretty impressed with the speed. The new one was MiC vs. MiT and had a slightly different finish, but I don't think there are many.
I don't have any SAE to speak of, and never will again, so no skips is/was important to me. I'm not going to consider any set that includes SAE either - waste of money and space.
I don't think there are many mistake to be made out there to be honest. The ease of walking in and out of a HF for replacement scores pretty high for me since impact sockets are one of the few tools I've needed to warranty, but honestly Tekton and Sunex both will get you a replacement really quickly too.

I’ve looked throughout the Tekton website and can’t find any truth to this - any drive size, any set, 6 or 12 point. They seem to have some of the most comprehensive sets.

Well the 1/2" drive set I bought of short impact sockets on a rail has skips.
Now now. We’ll have no racial profiling here, sir. Olli could be a very messy person who just doesnt give 2 craps about anything.
- He may use Phillips screwdrivers in pozi screw heads
- he may wear unmatched socks and birkies
- his socket drawers may have OTHER tools in it. NON SOCKETS!
- he probably doesn’t care what kind of beer he drinks as long as it’s made in America, comes in a can, and has the word “lite” on it.

My only beef with my Capri 3/8" semi deep impact sockets is the laser etched markings are already coming off after a year of moderate use.
One thing I love about the German speaking countries is that the default answer is no. If there isn't a sign saying PARKING, you can't park there. The German economy is the biggest in Europe partially due to the savings surrounding not needing NO SMOKING signs, NO PARKING, NO CAMPING, NO DUMPING, NO LOADING.
They only have signs when you are permitted to do something. That's how my wife and I got into so much trouble on the Romantische Strasse (romantic road).

If you do mostly automotive work, SAE hasn't been a thing on ANY brand in quite awhile.
Industrial equipment is still holding out, but I hope not much longer.
Hondas, Toyotas, Mazdas, a Volvo, a Mini, vintage (80's) BMWs and a modern BMW in the family, along with a lot of household DIY stuff. The only thing I can remember in recent years that needed SAE was my son trashed the front passenger suspension in one of the Mazdas and I replaced pretty much everything under the wheel well. The ABS sensor bolt that held it in the hub was (bizarrely) a 3/16" bolt, but it is a FoMoCo part.
Even the (ridiculous) 60" range that came with my house made by Dacor in the USA in 2005 is metric.
Ford is weird like that, a 2022 f550 I worked on the other day had 3/8” bleeder screws. 10mm was a loose fit, 9mm didn’t fit at all, but 3/8” was a perfect fit. I remember a master cylinder on a f650 of a similar vintage had 9/16” line nuts on it. Blew my mind but it is what it is.
