So I just picked up my project car, a 69 vw bus, and I want to start with some basic maintenance like plugs, wires, pertronix vacuum advance distributor.... I plan on buying the craftsman compression tester set with my shop your way points so it isnt too expensive but my question is about a timing light. My basic timing light I have is a no thrills basic light. I need something that can also do advance and it would be nice if it had a tachometer as well since the bus doesn't have one to help assist but tachometer isnt absolutely necessary. Do you guys have a suggestion for a rather inexpensiveness timing light? I was searching craigslist but I didnt find much.
