Tiny bolt for ratchet

I have this free ratchet that lost the tiny screw that holds it together. I don't even know where to start looking.

Most Hardware stores have thread diameter and pitch gauges on their hardware isle. I’d start there.

Ace hardware probably has them, or something very close, int the Hillman bins.

I’m always amazed at what I can find in those bins.

I used to work at a small Ace Hardware a few years ago. And I especially loved customers who came in with "problems" like yours. Nothing like digging thru bins of screws - and then the look on the customers face when you find the right one!

first thing I would do is try to determine if 's std or metric thread, then search my stashes . actually I woul search my stashes to determine what size it is.

It's nothing special.

The screw measures at 2.5mm x 14mm. There's no trouble finding that size, if 1 want 100. There is a bit of trouble find 1 or 2.

I often buy 100 fasteners on eBay when they are 10x + as much each at the local hardware store. May or may not ever use the rest but it's going to be a hell of an estate sale someday.

Try a hobby store that has remote control car stuff. Its where I found a 3.5 mm screw. Ace didn't have what I needed.

I found 4 screws I think should work. They're M2.5 roughly 12mm long.
