Glad to hear these are working out for you, I purchased the one from Napa auto parts when they were on sale. GJ had a thread on them at the time. I have only used it once to jump start some ladies car in a parking lot, It was a lot easier then trying to get out cables to jump start off my car.
Now that I think about it, I should go out and see if it needs to be charged again. No matter what you get, if it isn't charged when you need it, it isn't gonna help

I just went out and brought mine into the house, I tested it and it shows 100 percent charge after all these months plus jumping one car. I plugged it in any way to top it off. It was in the house any way. Richard

Kind of tempted... I don't really expect this to jumpstart my duramax in winter, but as someone else posted they are handier than having to use jumper cables and position vehicles and such to get someone else's vehicle started....

I got a couple figuring it would be enough extra juice to get it turned over if the battery was low but not completely dead. All else fails it'd be a big portable phone charger.

The temperature was 0 degrees here this morning, and this jumper provided more than enough power to assist in starting my car. Much better than dealing with jumper cables and trying to find someone to help with a traditional jump.

That's largely why I carry one. It's fun to see people go "That little thing won't start my car." Then it does.

That said, I don't have the actual one discussed in this thread. I've got a Rockford and the big "diesel" AP (which I have yet to test on a diesel).

My son used it to start a buddies car last night been sitting in the below 0F temps for over 24 hours.

He said it popped right off no issues.

Does anyone have the jumper from HF? How does this one compare?

HF is a small lead acid battery. My friends shop used one until the extended warranty ran out on exchanges then bought much bigger lead acid dual battery unit, but that is daily use in a shop for old cars.

It's great to hear the good reviews on this; I have put this in my wife's mini-van. Good to know that it should work if we periodically charge it.

Used it today to start my old WH tractor in about 20 degree weather. I know, nothing like starting a car....but it certainly was quick and easy. It sure beat jockeying the car around and getting the jumpers out.

After reading some of the reviews in this thread, I started looking around for a deal. I just went 2 miles down the road and picked up a new Suaoki U10 800A Peak 20,000mAh Jump Starter for $50 off of my local facebook classified section.

Where were you storing the jumper pack, in your car or house?

HF is NOT my technology store, not for newer tech especially. I might consider the lead acid $40 starter, if I was looking for that type, but I don't buy HF fuses or similar devices.

I used the jumper for the first time today, the first attempt didn't go so well the car battery was gone, no dash lights nothing turned on at all (just bought it non running) it would crank the starter a couple times for a few seconds but nothing substantial. Put the battery charger on the car and let it sit for a couple hours. When I tried to start it there wasn't enough juice in the car battery to even turn the starter. Hooked up the jump pack and it turned over and started on the 3rd try.

First use of the jumper it had been in the truck in the cold the last week. The second time I used it I had it in the house for a couple hours before.

I am overall satisfied with it.

I've used mine a few times at work so far. It's started everything up I've hooked it up.... Except the Saab sport sedans. But even a single jnc660 doesn't start them, you need to run double packs, they're like a spaceship. But I like the little thing, is a lot more convenient to use then the bigger packs when I get the dead battery cars.

Man, I was going to order one of these today, but there is only FBA and the coupon code doesn't work. Oh well...

The other night I was walking my dog and I pass a college kid walking out to his car. I hear him trying to crank it and the battery is weak. It gets weaker and weaker and he finally gives up. If I had one of those packs I would have offered to jump his car, but since I don't and I really didn't feel like driving my truck down there in the rain and everything I just let it be and figured one of his roommates could help him out... lol.

That's a pretty sorry thing to do. Remember that when you break down and no one helps you.

I was thinking about this last night, and your point is well taken...

If I'm not willing to go out of my way to help someone else in their time of need, why would anyone stop to help me in my time of need?

Unless they look like an ax murder or similar... lol

Snagged one.

Wondering if anyone uses one in places such as Upull, Pull A Part etc? If so,what did you use it for?

I am going to make some brand specific plugs/pins/adapters etc so I can use this to test and/or move power seats to add in removal for example. At least with the seats, I can probably isolate the harness so no worries about shorts due to exposed leads under the hood or elsewhere in a vehicle. Could also be useful to test nav systems, move a window to aid in removing glass/window regulator etc. Might put some fuses or circuit breakers on the leads themselves to avoid the possibility of a direct short = exploding battery pack, lol.

Good idea.
I had a different brand which had a meltdown when the starter solenoid stuck on and it kept cranking until I could jump out of the seat and get the pack disconnected... it was too late.
The little box on the leads had melted solder traces in it. But the funky smell has me thinking the battery got damaged too.

I have the Suaoki U10 800A Peak 20,000mAh and used it to jump my lawnmower a couple times just fine. I tried to jump start my truck over the weekend and it wouldn't do it. The battery was weak, but not completely dead from leaving headlights on. It's an '08 F-150 w/ 4.6l. It would click, but wouldn't start, so I put the Suaoki on, gave it a few seconds and still would just click. Cycled the charger a few times so it would give juice to the battery for 30 seconds of so, took the charge down from 100% to upper 80's because I tried it so many times, still wouldn't start it. I drug out my 8 or 9 year old 400amp jump box and it started right up.

Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed. I'd say it will start a car OK or it might have started the truck if I disconnected the battery, but I didn't have time to deal with that.

OK so I am a bone head, left my truck sitting for 2 or 3 weeks with the kids game charger plugged into the inverter, the GPS and a phone charger plugged in and imagine that when I went to start it it was flat lined. The door chime didn't even work, pulled out the multimeter and read 6.8 volts at the battery.

Hooked this little thing up and wham the 6.0 turned right over and started, granted I never have to crank this truck it always pops right off even when it is -20 but color me impressed.

Oh I got mine when the OP posted and charged it when I got it and it has been used by my kids several times but never recharged it has just been sitting in the truck all that time.

If you missed this originally, you have a second chance for Prime Day.

Suaoki T10 400A Peak 12000 mAh Portable Car Jump Starter Battery Booster and USB Power Bank with LED Flashlight for Truck Motorcycle Boat Automotive, Red and Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2HHU2O/?tag=atomicindus08-20

$38. About 3 hours remaining on this item.

I've been using one of these as a portable phone charger and I've done dozens of car and motorcycle starts with it. It's a good little unit.

GREAT PRICE!

I paid $80 for the orange one of those back in December. It's started my car at least three times, plus a few other cars, and my generator as well.

Ordered another 400a model. Ive got two vehicles with older batteries so its only a matter or time before one dies. I like seeing just how long the battery will last.

$34 shipped

Why not buy a new battery? Not saying these jumper units aren't handy but when a battery is getting old I buy a new one. Why take a chance on getting stranded
