Had this box for a year or two but didn't have the keys due to it being sent to scrap by a corporate R&D lab. Got the side box along with two other side boxes a month ago and noticed all three were keyed to Mac locks(with keys) and eventually realized they were the same locks as the Mac box(different codes) so I pulled the cylinders and switched them out.
Top box went quick and easy but the bottom box fought a bit due to its design(locking mechanism's rod is directly threaded into the cylinder so the rod has to be realigned and it's finicky locking it in the right orientation). Kept getting the rod in the right orientation then it'd twist on attempting to lock/unlock the box so then I had to mess with the locking bar and noticed it was stuck. Tried oiling and tapping it free then it worked partially(drawers were sticking or half the drawers would stay locked).
So this is the point where everything should've been working right, nothing visibly wrong, but it was still having sticking issues. So I put my phone in the box to check the bottom of the bar(drawers were full so I didn't pull them till issues arose, first just the middle then the side drawers). Took a pic and here's what I found.

A 600MM ruler(with signatures etched by 3 of the corporate workers) stuck in the bottom of the bar preventing it from going down all the way. Had to take the bottom drawer out and pry the ruler out(it was pinned under the bar and against the corner of the box so it couldn't move and acted somewhat like a spring, keeping the bar from going all the way down and making it bounce up a bit when dropped).

So in the end I have locks on the box, two locks(the old ones without keys) I can rekey, and a 600MM ruler now.
And the tip: check the bottom of the box if you have an issue before spending 4 hours messing around with the top.
