TiP pressure pot blaster?

I am going on a road trip Monday to pick up a TiP(mfg by Truman's) sandblaster.I think it is a 150lb model but the tag is gone from the machine.It is from 2002 and looks to be in good shape.It will be a 250 mile round trip so I am keeping my fingers crossed.Price is $100 with 4 or 5 bags of media and I hope some other stuff....a good price I think.Does anyone here have one of these things....back in the day they were very highly regarded.

Yes. I have been using one since the very early 90s. It belongs to my father in law. I literally have sprayed many pallets of sand through it over the years during my various restoration products.

Two years ago I called TP to order my own and found out the bad news that they quit selling them some years ago.

You're buying a damn good unit. The funnel top arrangement is superior to most Chinese junk sold nowadays. There's nothing like holding a 100 pound bag of sand up in the air and trying to pour it into a funnel stuck in the top of a red Chicom blaster.

I have a tip 60 that I bought in 71 and it still works great the only problem is the ball valve at the tip wears out fast,a great tool.Doug

I think that is a TIP '99. Looks like mine which works well.

Thanks guys...this is all good news.In doing my research on these sandblasters I found out that you can get parts from BRUT Mfg. http://www.brutmfg.com/en/sand-blasting/sand-blasters-parts I guess they bought all the tooling and rights when Truman's in Canfield,OH retired and closed up.That is why TP Tools, which used to be TiP, no longer sells pressure pots.I hope the link helps anyone who needs parts.

I am...the very nice lady I talked to assured me it works....she was the one who used it for years. She lost her husband and is moving to Florida.I will post some pics Tuesday .

I have bought parts from Brut and it fit the "couger" valve perfectly.

I have the same TiP blaster, it's a beast and probably one of the best out there as far as price vs. performance goes. TP tools (known as TiP back then) didn't actually make those units, but had an agreement to sell Brut units under the TiP name and colors with some differences. Any parts needed for the old TiP pressure units can be interchanged with the same stuff from Brut. Brut has modernized their line over time, but the small stuff remains pretty similar.

Well. I got it home and I am very happy! It is in great shape and a good deal for $100 plus gas.
